Kinetic floors are custom-built platforms designed to generate energy when someone jumps on them. For Coldplay’s energy-neutral world tour, MFX Engineering developed these innovative and sustainable objects.
We designed and manufactured the frames of the kinetic floors, ensuring they were tour-proof. Each floor fits perfectly into custom-made cases and trolleys, which we also provided. The system consists of four large interlocking sections, along with twelve additional parts that are placed around them—a complete, practical setup.
During the concert, the kinetic floors capture energy and convert it into electricity, meaning the audience is literally generating power for the show. The goal? To raise awareness about sustainability and energy consumption in a unique and interactive way.
